Innovation consultant, author and trend expert Dr Lida Hujić gives style tips for 2016. The focus will be what Lida dubbed as “the Macabres”. No longer just an underground scene, with elements already appearing in fashion, art and interior design, this movement is clearly ear-marked as the next big style trend. Rooted in decadence, decay and anatomy, strongly influenced by Victoriana but taking cues from a range of scenes from fantasy and fetish to steampunk and seapunk, intentionally more provocative and disturbing than its predecessor, the now laggard “vintage” trend, macabre is the sign of new times.
